Kadoga Points (KP) are the community currency used within Kadoga. Instead of paying money for pet sitting, members exchange care using points.

You earn KP when you care for another member’s pet, and you use those points when you need care for your own. The system is designed to keep exchanges balanced, predictable, and fair for everyone.

Starter Points When You Join

New members receive 800 KP when they join.

This typically covers:

Around 3 nights for 1 dog at a sitter’s home
Around 2 nights for 1 dog at your home

Care provided in the owner’s home includes a small surcharge to reflect additional travel and time.

How Points Are Earned

Members earn Kadoga Points by:

Hosting a dog overnight
Providing hourly dog care
Visiting a cat for feeding and check-ins
Referring new members (see below)

Referrals

When you refer a new member, both you and the referred member receive 60 KP, provided the new member:

Pays for a 1-year membership
Completes at least one pet sit (as host or guest)

This ensures that referral points reflect real participation in the community.

How Points Are Calculated

Each pet sit is calculated using a clear and consistent structure:

Base rate – the standard rate per dog or cat
Extra pet rate – added if there is more than one animal
Home surcharge – added when care takes place at the owner’s home

This structure keeps the system transparent and easy to understand.

Dog Sit Hourly Rates

Hourly rates apply to shorter visits and are capped at the corresponding overnight rate.

For example, 1 dog at the sitter’s home costs a maximum of 240 KP per day, even if care exceeds 8 hours.

Cat visits are structured as short daily visits for feeding, litter care, and companionship.

Rules

To keep the system fair and consistent:

KP cannot be printed, transferred, or gifted.
There is no cap on earned KP.
KP do not expire.
If a member suspends or cancels their subscription, they cannot use KP during that period. If they re-subscribe, their earned KP become usable again.
If a member deletes their account, all KP are permanently lost.

If you pause or cancel your membership, your points are frozen until you return.
